Trademark registration applications made to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) are subject to a 2-month opposition period after bulletin publication. During this period, third parties can oppose the trademark registration application.
Opposition grounds include prior trademark rights, well-known trademark status, or absolute grounds for refusal such as public order.
The applicant whose application is opposed can defend their rights by filing an opposition response. The process usually concludes with TÜRKPATENT's evaluation.
